#26 Racer
1962 21', Hull #71 Owner: Skip Location: Florida This Classic 21' has a history of ocean racing by Johnson-Kirby in the 1960's with twin 55HP Homelites. Since the 1970's, she's been enjoyed as a private boat and decorated for Christmas Boat Parades. Early 2006, she was gutted to a bare hull by the previous owner in preparation of a restore. Now, in new ownership, the restoration will continue. | "UNOHU"
1965 21', Hull #167 Owner: Bob Location: Florida Originally ordered during the 1965 Miami Boat Show, Bob received a call from Carl Moesly stating he was too back-logged on orders and would Bob be willing to accept the boat show model which had many more 'goodies'. Of course! For 27 years, this boat ran back & forth to the Bahamas, usually as the lead boat to knock down the waves for others to follow. Bob will still admit, it was a sad day when he sold her in 1992. | | 21'
1964-1970 21', Hull #136 Owner: Terry Location: Florida This boat was found in the snowy tundra of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and brought back to its birth place in south Florida, late 2007. Restoration dreaming has now commenced. It should be done when the Packers win the next Super Bowl! | "DD"
1965 Bowrider, Hull #336 Owner: Carla Location: Florida After many months of searching, DD was found in northern Florida, seen, purchased & trailered home on the same day. She is original throughout, and has a very old 1970's Alpha I Mercruiser, which happens to run like a champ. She enjoys the lifestyle of the Florida Keys & is great for diving the shallow reefs.

1966 Bowrider, Hull #317 Owner: Carla Location: Florida CJ was originally purchased by Carl Moesly and named by Jeanne. After a month's work of stripping out the old rigging, Moesly determined she was too much boat for cruising his river and passed her to Carla. With a solid transom & cockpit sole, minor repairs were made, lots of cosmetic work retaining as much of the original appearance & hardware as possible. With a new 115hp Etec in 2007 she'll ride along at almost 40mph with 2 people. The windshield and bow railing were left off for the more sporty look.
| "Shiela B"
1967 Bowrider, Hull #359 Owner: Don Location: New Jersey Originally purchased new in Miami by his uncle, the 'Shiela B' was transferred to Don in 1988 when he couldn't pass on a boat that played a big part in his childhood memories. He re-worked the engine and kept her running until 2000, when he finally replaced the engine and gave her a new transom. Everything else is basically original with the exception of the custom top he added. She is enjoyed as their family fun fishing boat. | 20' cc
1970 cc Owner: Otto Location: NY This original 1970 classic found me one day in 2006 as I was just stomping thru the marinas. Spotted from a distance, I knew it was an old Moesly classic and just had to have it! My buddy rode the classic back to our dock as I took my almost new Triumph 195 with 150 Yamaha. As we hit the confusion boat wakes, I had to back off on the Triumph as she was shaking & pounding...yet the SeaCraft just kept on trucking. She definitely proved herself over the boat I had spent 10 times the amount for. The following week, I sold the Triumph. I have no intention of changing or upgrading anything, she's perfect just as she is. | "Black Jack"
1964 21', Hull #130 Owner: Brian & Amie Location: Florida This classic, known as the "Berry Picker" was found in Ft. Lauderdale, where the previous owner did not know what to do with her, thinking she was just "old". She had been purchased new and being good friends with Carl & Jeanne Moesly, they made several trips together to the Bahamas, each in their own 21'. On one such trip, hurrican Donna blew thru. They all survived well, but it was a memorable event! Well taken care of, this boat is undergoing some restoration with plans of launching this summer (2008). | | "NoBones"
1970 SF 20' Owners: Ken & Patti Location: Florida Purchased from the original owner in 1989, Ken totally gutted and rebuilt her in 1991/92 adding his touches of customization. The addition of his tall tower gives him the advantage against his fishing buddies. NoBones is most happy when she's finding bugs in the keys or chasing Cobia on Manta Rays off Daytona. So well loved, she even has her own split-faced concrete house! | "Restless Lady"
1972 Seafari 20' Owner: Denny Location: Florida Owned since 1975, she's an original beauty with an Etec 150 and a Potter bracket. She joined the "Unohu" in many ocean crossings to the Bahamas for fishing & diving in the late 70's & 80's. Now she's enjoyed extensively closer to home & as Denny says, "I'd rather be fishing than working". | | "WAVELENGTH"
1975 23' cc Owners: Matt & Gail Location: Florida She's still original. Purchased from the original owner in Texas in 2006 this boat looks like it just come off the showroom. It was used in freshwater and kept in a garage and covered most of the time. It has it's second motor and trailer (1989) and even the original gas gauge works! When asked how the price for sale was determined, the man said he wanted the price he paid for her in 1975 back. WoW...such a deal! | "NoSlack"
1984 SF 20' Owner: Chris Location: Florida She was a gift from his Dad and is used primarily for fishing. Powered by a 2004 Merc, 150 Saltwater, 2-stroke and will get in excess of 36 knots. Modifications have been new Kodiak Livewell, guages, T9top, & Rocket Launcher. "Truly, it's the best riding 20 I've ever been on and I plan to keep her forever ... after experiencing this Moesly designed craft." | "Fishalot II"
1972 Seafari 20' Owner: Fr. Frank Location: Florida This is Father Frank's fishing buddy, and fourth SeaCraft. After having languished undercoverd under an oak tree for 7 years, it was purchased by Frank's wife, Sharon in late 2001, after years of hearing Frank repeatedly describe his love for SeaCraft, and especially the Seafari. After receiving the boat, he first replaced the wiring the squirrels had eaten, removed all their acorns, and replaced the fuel tank. Then the original 85 hp motor was changed for a 150 Mercury, and then in late 2007, that was replaced with a 90 hp Mercury Optimax. Today it gets used as an all-around family fun and fishing boat, just as it did over 35 years ago, and just as Carl Moesly intended.
| "Katherine Mae Katfish"
1968 Bowrider #642 Owner: Steve Location: Florida The Bowrider was found & purchased in Green Cove Springs in early 1997, boat, motor and trailer. The motor was junk and replaced by a 2000 Johnson 150 carb engine right before OMC went bankrupt, but no problems ever. The boat was a wreck but structurally sound. I did all the glass repair work, pulled out the gas tank and flushed it, and had an Imron paint job applied. The boat will run over 50 mph with two aboard and people have told me it is the easiest riding hull they have ever been in. It is also a great ski boat.
| "Kasanna"
1972 SF Owner: Kevin Location: Florida Found the boat in South Florida, in a car lot, of all places. She was a total wreck, but something about her caught my attention. Spent 4 months doing a complete refit and hung a Yamaha 130 on the transom. With top speed of 43 knots I can get anywhere in good time... and once there, enjoy this true fishing machine. | |
