Moesly SeaCraft 15' Scampi - History

The Scampi was designed and built for I/O's during the mid-1960's.  Just as it was going into production, the reputation of I/O's was taking a 'hit' in the media and became unpopular.  As a result, sales were very slow and few Scampi's were ever built.  In later years, Moesly wanted to re-engineer the Scampi to fit an outboard, but the timing was not right and it never happened.
The first Scampi off the production line was given to Carl Kiekhaefer for his birthday at Lake X and named "Mr K".
